Geographically, the region, and particularly the Department of Vichada, is privileged at worldwide level since it is one of the zones with more exposure to sun light (from 10 to 12 hours per day), enabling timber species with a greater capacity of use of the photosynthesis process. This geographical characteristic reduces close to 50% of the time that is regularly needed by a tree for its development. For example, while in Chile and Canada a pine tree needs from 40 to 60 years, respectively, to be completely developed, in Vichada, the same plant totally completes its development process in around 17 years, also taking advantage, of the physical advantage of the soils that are characterized by their good drainage and breathing.
